New Aetna Partnership: What to Expect
Who’s ready for 2021? We are! 40 Square members have received multiple communications via email and/or mail about our new partnership with Aetna beginning January 1, 2021.
Here is what you can expect:
ID Cards: You will receive a new ID Card in the mail in December. ID cards are being generated based on current enrollment unless changes were made prior to December 1st. If renewal changes are made after December 1st, a new ID card will be generated and sent out to reflect the changes. You must provide your new ID card to pharmacies, clinics and hospitals when seeking care after the first of the year, or services will likely be denied.
Pharmacy Welcome Letters: You will receive a welcome letter in regards to the pharmacy benefits. This letter is simply a welcome to the new benefits, however, for some, it will have important information about the current medications you are taking and action that may be required.
Aetna Welcome Packet: In January, you will receive a welcome packet from Aetna with general information about the services and resources available to you through Aetna. You can view those resources here. You can find a link to look up in-network providers and review many of the new benefits such as the 24-Hour Nurse Line and telemedicine through Teladoc on our website. You can reach out directly to Aetna, starting now to verify if your current provider is in-network by contacting the Aetna One Advocates (A1A) at 1-800-778-1162. Please note: Aetna will not have your enrollment information until your renewal has been processed at 40 Square.
Teladoc: In 2021, you will receive a welcome kit from our new telemedicine partner, Teladoc. You will have access to general medical services through Teladoc for things such as colds, allergies, sinus problems and the flu. You will also have access to mental health and dermatology services.
